I have not worked out how to get music to work but it may simply be for phone calls as the audio comes out of the drivers speaker

Nice find! I thought it was only for calls, but I was wrong (once)  :D

Phone symbol is a comically obvious clue there. Great find indeed. Could be a cheap upgrade option at least for that much functionality. :victory:

Must pay attention for that phone button at the wreckers in case there's one there waiting. Where was it mounted?

This is what I thought a Parrot Unit looked like.

After a bit more snooping around Whirlpool and Gumtree, it turns out it's not a Parrot but a Lumen. Better put away all those parrot gags for later! :crazy1:

Isn't that a chargeable offence now, at least in Oz? Or is that dischargeable?

got some manuals for this. Let me know if the links work. Normally I'd upload files and attach, 50k limit makes it pretty useless to use attachments.

Yep, links work. I've actually been looking at some instructables on adding cheap eBay aftermarket BT to non-BT units, mostly focussed on hooking the BT straight onto an AUX IN point on the circuit board.

Worth a go from the look of things, and cheapest option if not one of those blessed with finding some random you-beaut BT harness in a car. :Pout:

Here's a little irony. I fitted the FD-01 into my Hatch. Brilliant, stream music, hands free phone etc.

Jump in to drive the car today, chuck the sunnies on, WTF, can't see the screen. Polarised sunnies!
And yet my boy has the same sunnies and says he can see it! :crazy1:

Does that mean I suffer some bipolar disorder or something :noshits:

Stop driving with your head hanging parallel to the horizon.

Nah, I rotated the sunnies 90 degrees, that caused another issue. :needhelp:

Same here - well I don't have a boy with the same sunnies - but yeah FD-01 and polarised sunnies can hardly see the screen.  A little annoying as it isn't an issue with the stock headunit for the 2010 model (PA710 IIRC).

Was he sitting in the same location as you or in the passenger seat?

Passenger, also on hot days the screen starts to go. looks like they're a special model for Australia only.
