I wonder if the B&M shifter from Hyundai Canada below is different that what we get on Aussie hatches

Yeah that looks pretty cool, I'm sure it would be the same if its in the "Elantra Touring" - but you never know.

from experience, most shifters designed by B&M or Hurst are designed with left hand drive in mind. so if there is any difference it will angle toward left side more. drive a focus they are that way, thats one thing i did not like also they have indicator switch where you expect whiper switch , just normal on german cars and most left hand drive. would be good to have improved shifting.

That first gearknob looks like what's fitted to Fergie, though I wouldn't class it as "sporty" in any way...
