Dear all,

I recently bought a Hyundai i30 2008 manual petrol.

Fort the past  6 months it worked fine the only issues I had were with the immobiliser but a simple antenna replacement fixed the issue.

However today I noticed a leak where there is an A\C pipe !

Does anyone now what it might be ?

I attached a photo below

Thanks
Matthew Gauci.

:welcum: Matthew,

You say a/c pipe, could it just be condensation?  If it were me I'd try and get some on your fingers and see what it feels/smells like.. Water, fuel or brake fluid/oil. Looks pretty minor, whatever it is... Doesn't look like a spot that would be easily damaged...

AC's run refrigerant gas AND oil to lubricate the moving parts of the system. If it's oily and there is no other obvious point of origin, then it could be oil from the compressor which is directly above. If so, you have most likely lost your refrigerant gas as well and running the system without oil will destroy the AC parts.

Well, I am only trying to minimise any further expense, not being deliberately pessimistic. It happened to a relative of mine.  :)

Dear all ,

Just arrived from Hyundai service centre and they checked the car and assured me that the pipe that has water dripping from it is the pipe that delivers cold air in the car, that pipe gets very cold and it might drip water from it.

Once again thanks all for your time and help.

Thanks
Matthew
