This is a section of a larger photo which shows a car owned by my grandfather in 1946.

Does anyone know its make and model?  I know its a bit much to ask - but you never know.

Me thinks Lorian has hit the nail on the head, the spare wheel compartment is the giveaway and the Vauxhall 10 horse defo had that feature

I did have a ride in it when I was about 12 years old - but having a car was way out of my family's means.

My wife beating drunken sod of a grandfather owned a glazing business and made a lot of money during the war replacing bomb damaged windows. Two of my uncles, who somehow avoided conscription, worked for him. My dad was not so lucky - he did 6 years in India and Burma.
