Title: An early bath for Vayda (40,000 mile full service)
Post by: Shambles on September 02, 2016, 19:50:48
2014 GD2 CRDi Style Nav (UK) manual 6sp

Mileage: 33,300
Service Interval: 2 years/20,000 mile

Had her 1st service in Aug 2015 with 20,000 miles showing, so not due for another 7,000 miles or so.

However, I've decided to put her in for a full service next week as she's starting to cough a little. Not all the time, just occasionally when waiting at traffic lights or slowing down under fuel runoff. Plus my steering's creaking more than ever under light load at parking speeds.

Interestingly, when I called my dealer to book her in, I asked about map updates and the general health check, to be told there was an outstanding ECU update which would be applied. They also said they'd check the map software and update as necessary. I'm going to guess that it won't include actual routing updates.

Quoted £333, which spookily represents £1 for every 100 miles I've travelled in her. Bargain!

My car is due its first service at my main dealers next month at the extortionate cost of £82.44.  The service interval is 10.000 miles/12 months.  I will have done about 9500 miles when it goes in.

It will be even worse next year at a cost of £130.57.

Then back to £82.44 in the third year.

Sounds dear to me too! My next service is my last free one 60k (also got 7k to go)

Trish's is due this month 2nd service 30k (she's done little more than half that)

We got an email and postal reminder A $249 including Sat nav update worth $150. Should be cheap by the time they take off oil (supplied) Air filter (K & N) and the sat nav update value (she doesn't have one)

@Dazzler aren't Trish's services capped at $219 like mine :undecided: or didnt they give that offer in Tas? once they remove the oil and air filter cost my services are $150.

I was told that 3 ECU updates were applied. I asked them to explain what those updates fixed or improved.

All they could say was the changes affected the ESP, ESC and idle control.

Marginally. She idles smoothly now but all else feels the same.

For the 3rd time, they couldn't hear my steering 'problem' so I took their engie around the car park and did slow manoeuvres spinning the steering wheel from edge to edge. NOW they've acknowledged it, but I couldn't be arsed leaving her there as I needed to get back home.
