Yeah Rusty.. can't wait for Trishie to have a drive too (think she will be impressed)

She had a ride in the demo one back in April but didn't get to have a drive

Well I went and had a look at her in the pre-delivery yard and was a little disappointed in the colour

Bit less gold and more brown than I envisaged.. but once I put driving lights and decals and stuff on her I might feel different. On the plus side she will not be a common colour

I will post a "phone" picture tonight. She was locked and they were busy but there was a sticker on the window which said Australian stock July/2012 so assume that is the build date.

I ordered an Audi A3 Sportsback 2.0 TDi a few years ago prior to its UK launch and had to wait 4 months for it to arrive. I chose the colour - Dolphin metallic - upon seeing an A4 in the showroom in that colour.

4 months later I went to collect the car and upon seing it my heart sank. In daylight it was a dull grey blob - and not the vibrant sparkling dark silver I had seen in the halogen lit showroom.

It was a great car in every respect except for the colour which was a permanent irritation. It got to me so much I traded it back in 18 months later for a silver car.

It was a very expensive mistake. I do hope it works out OK with you dazz.

All I can say Dazz is make sure you are happy with it before you take delivery of it.
If you express disappointment with it they will, I'm sure, swap it with another one from another dealership. It happens all the time.
But as you said, it will probably grow on you.

Are you satisfied that it's the colour you were led to believe you ordered. If you can't live with it long term, you need to do something about it before it leaves their facility.

I don't hate it. It is the right colour (it said magnetic bronze on a sticker on the window)

It was just how it came off the boat.. once it is polished and dressed up I think it will be fine

I am quietly confident that with the rear spoiler, the driving/fog lights, slim line weather shields, tinted windows and some custom coloured Hybrid decals it will look OK

I thought it was going to be the deeper bronze colour that I have seen.

Thanks Dave, I seems to be one of those colours that looks different in different lights. The colour of the decals I get made might make it look different too.. (got to design something, I might get Hemmi and Mikasus to help

)
