Title: FD/mk1 Automatic Diesel - Remapping with auto box?
Post by: welbourne on April 08, 2022, 15:15:45
Hi all,

Struggling to find any clear info on this. I've a 2010 FD/mk1 1.6 diesel with the 4 speed auto box. I was considering a remap to get a wee bit more power and fuel economy but I can't find out what sort of power the transmission (which I assume is a A4CF2) is rated for. I suspect it's already on the limits of what it can take but the information I've found is useless, for example Wikipedia states the A4CF2 can take 235Nm torque but that's clearly nonsense as the 1.6 CRDi makes 255Nm out the factory....

Has anyone ever remapped their auto diesel, or got any pointers for me?

Cheers!

Auto won't handle a power map. You can remap for slightly better fuel economy.

The boxes are built with a tolerance to handle a small increase in torque though I wouldn't safely push them past a 10% increase without mechanical upgrades being performed.
