Title: Replacing GD-01 to GD-02
Post by: rcgc on July 21, 2017, 05:48:51
Hi guys,
My I30 stereo unit has died and I need to get it replaced
The actual unit is the GD-01 and by mistake I bought the GD-02.
Does anyone know if I can use this unit instead?
The plugs are exactly the same but some differences between the GD-01 label that has been posted here previously.

Welcome. I dont think you will have a problem,  but without looking at the other threads I can't recall the differences.  I'm sure someone will know more.

:link: HOW TO: GD Body - Remove/Replace/Swap OEM (2DIN) headunit (https://www.i30ownersclub.com/forum/index.php?topic=36383.0)

Post #4 got pictures of pinouts for both. A quick glance tells the signals that are not NC are all the same, so no flames with all you will experince is a degraded unit as youll lack some of the hardware the GD-02 utilizes.
