Hi All
And thanks for a great site.
My daughter has just bought a 2012 i30 as her first car. It has 10,000 on the clock and she has had it for 4 weeks.
1st problem was a crack has appeared underneath the middle air cond vent near the LCD screen, there has been nothing pressing on this middle panel or people in the passenger seat for this to happen.
And now the LCD screen in freezing, turning off, resetting the clock to zero and the bluetooth intermittently connect to her phone.
When she presses the media button it come up with memo, and she has to manually connect her phone to use bluetooth.
The music she has on her phone/mp3 is of the format of mp3.
Can any of you shed any light on what may be happening, so i have a bit of knowledge for when we go back a see the dealership.
Thanks
Coleen.

The radio unit in this model have been problematic. Consult your dealer and insist on a replacement unit. There is a delay in supply, so arrange the replacement well before you take the vehicle in.

Thanks Phil for the reply.
This is a hypothetical question.
If this unit has been replaced before and when being replaced it was some how not put back in right, say, the screws were tightened to much or something like that, and on a hot Perth day of 38 degrees would this have made the side of the dash crack.
Just a question i have been pondering.

The car is warranted for 5 years, so regardless of the cause, provided the crack is not as a result of misuse or accident, it should be replaced. With regard to screws etc, anything is possible, but you shouldn't need to prove that point.

:welcum:
Did you buy the car from Northam Hyundai?

The description of the problem makes me think it's a connection issue. Resetting usually only happens when the permanent battery power is interrupted, either behind the unit or further away on that circuit. Could be anything from bad connection in the plug, plugs not push together properly to a fuse not making contact all of the time.
I would be chasing down the permanent power pin and its fuse.

And Hati knows his electronics. :)

:welcome: Coleen, Glad you like the site.
Hope your Daughter's LCD issues are sorted efficiently by the Dealer (the guys have come up with a bit of "ammo" for you) :Good_luck:

Thanks Everyone
We got the car from DVG Morley, as she works in Perth it was a bit easier for her.
The daughter is just so upset, as this is her first car , and i was the one that did all the research so i have to try to get things right for her. :disapp:
So with any luck they will come to the party and fix things.
So thanks again for all your help. Much appreciated
