Hi
I am also interested in getting  this to working via the 3.5mm jack.

I have purchased a male to male 3.5mm  4pole TRRS cable, which is the type of cable that supports audio and video. I have tried to use my Samsung galaxy S2 (which supposedly has video out via the 3.5mm ) and connect it to the 3.5mm jack on my GD. I selected the AUX setting on the radio and tried to play a video, but only audio was being received.

I am going to try a camcorder which defiantly has a 3.5mm 4pole TRRS output just in case the galaxy does not.

I have made one observation when trying this thou, when you select Aux, the screen only display a symbol which has a speaker and 3.5mm cable, so I am not sure if this suggesting that it will only support audio.

Also, my guess is that because my Elite GD has a standard reverse camera, I have a feeling that the input wires have been used for the reverse camera and not connected to the AUX cable.

I will keep you updated.

Hi, I know this is an old post but I can't stop the sound coming from radio in the head unit when I try to play video. I can get video to play but no sound only radio.

If you have a phone connected via Bluetooth, play a song and pause playback, then insert usb

How did you get the video to work in the first place? I can not get it to work? what did you do and what did you use?

Thanks

So does running that USB software allow us to watch video while driving?

Haha, not for me... for my passengers! Where are we up to with this? What is the latest version that's compatible with the i30? I got the beta version running but i'm sure there would be a newer version available no?

Have a look on the veloster forums for the latest version. That's where I got my last copy from

I think I got the latest version but when I tried to launch it in the car it came up with an error message :\ I'm currently making a new skin for it because the one supplied is hideous!

You mean the skin that looks similar to windows 8?
Do post it when you're done :)

If I can get/find the latest version and it works I'll re-skin it. Video is not working for me on the beta version :( its asking for a serial number.

That's the one I tried and it didn't work, it came up saying this software isn't compatible. I'll try it again on Friday during my day off.
PS, how did you get into windows? What's the code?

The easiest way is to start a song playing via Bluetooth then pause it, then insert the USB.

Haha, not for me... for my passengers!

You'll be breaking the law if you have it playing videos while you're driving, VaerO....even if you personally aren't watching it.  :)

(b)  is likely to distract another driver.

I won't be watching the unit while driving and I doubt a cop would be able to see it while they drove past me, and if I happen to be pulled over for something like an RBT I can simply mute the audio via the steering wheel (Which I would do anyway) then turn the display off via the display switch, non the wiser.

Here is what I have so far:

Much more cleaner I think  :P I eventually wanna get rid of the Metro look because I think it's over done, but can't be bothered atm.

You're looking at a $304 fine and 3 demerit points but if you're willing to risk it, I guess that's your choice, VaerO....  :head_butt:

Our laws make no sense! We can watch and operate a gps, but having a moving image in our view is forbidden?

A GPS is classed as a drivers aid, a movie or whatever you may be viewing is just a distraction...  :victory:
