Hi jetty.

I can see why you chose jetwash as your nickname, but I can't see why you posted your issue in our "forum suggestions" section

Welcome jetwash123

Is the car under cover, or has it been in the rain recently, if so, possibly windscreen seal leak.

If not weather related, have you been using the air conditioner. There is a condensate drain pipe that is actually on the RHS of the car, but if blocked or not fitted properly, could leak back into the interior.

jetwash123,welcome to the forum,I haven't had your problem hope you find some answers, this should be a dealer issue,if you have the remainder of the new car warranty,or did you buy it new,if your not using coolant can't be a leaking heater.

I did have a nissan 4x4 which would have this problem in summer of all things,I tracked it too the A/con condensation drain,it for some reason was under the dash, then snaked it's way to the outside through the floor.via a rubber hose, the hose had become blocked, the condensation was building up,filling the A/con drain well and then simply leaking into the car,but if you have an SLX and use the auto temp function as I do all the time, this could possibly be the problem, other than that suggestion,I have no idea.

where do you live Aust Eng Europe, you in wet or dry conditions,so many possibilities for your problem

If the car has a sunroof I'd be checking the drain channels straight away, dont assume the dealer has. If there isnt a sunroof then look at the scuttle area under the bonnet where similar drain holes are liable to get blocked if you park under a tree. When any of these drain holes get blocked the Net result is a wet carpet. Also, take a peek at the door seal on that side...

There have been quite a few UK i40's with the same problem.

It was traced to the water channel from the windscreen which should be double sealed at time of manufacture and wasn't.

Hi jetwash123

Welcome to the forum.

My money would also be on the A/C drain. Hope you get it sorted soon.

Welcome Jetwash (very frustrating)

I'm with Asterix (I'd consider trying another dealer and maybe an email to Hyundai Australia is in order)  :disapp:
