I would like to lift the carpet to investigate a slight bump in the passenger footwell which I think is due to the underlay having moved.

The carpet edges are tucked under a plastic cover along the door edge, tight fit and no grommets visable fixing the cover, and under the plastic of the central console.

There are no obvious poppers holding the carpet to the floor.

Has any member any information on how the carpet can be lifted?

The plastic panels are only held on by plastic clips . Just pull them off.

Rain off for a short while so had a look.

The plastic edge just pulls off with a little bit of force.
Worried it I would break the lugs but thankfully the lugs are sturdy.

Didn't take the console side out as I was  able to lift carpet enough to feel under up to the 'bump'.

Pulled out a piece of foam which was between the underlay, and carpet.

Foam was same as underlay so can only surmise it has been under the carpet since the car was built, 7 years.

Due to feet action on the carpet over the years, it had moved ever so slowly into the position it was today.
(never felt it before during cleaning and vacuuming).

Thanks again.

It's going to be a real nervous year.
Get your Bushfire Plans in order now.
Knot or not, send some rain.

Made worse by having the country run by a religious retard who thinks his god will save us. :phone1:

Thats the only remedy.
Cancelled all travel to NZ in early Sept when the other side of the valley caught fire.
I installed a substantial sprinkler system on the outside of the house when I built it. But, don't want to have to test it; may be as useful as Lester's knot.  :faint:
