Very interesting! Congrats on the new job... Always an exciting time. I was a Banker for nearly 20 years and then worked my way through half a dozen management jobs in different areas of retail before retiring in June last year...   :happydance:

I posted a link to an article about your line of work (my head hurts!)

:link: Building information modeling - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Haha, yeah my head hurts as well on some days. My last project was a $1 Billion hospital in Singapore....good fun but lots of headaches. Moving back to my origins, retail and shopping centres.
The computer side is fascinating but I still really miss the good old drawing board.....nothing as nice as a quality drawing done by hand :)

I'm only half the distance away from Malmö compared to Drew in Uppsala, and I have to drive all the way across our little country to get to Malmö...  :P

Good for you but hard to understand in a cool country! We love our carpet, great sound insulator and soft and warm under foot. We have Tiles in our wet areas but I put in under floor heating there...  :goodjob:

It was meant to be a play on Dave's Laying comment.. (I was actually referring to the many retired folk on here - including me)

Although I need to go back to work to get a break (Long story)  :whistler:

IT guys are almost our most common profession on here for some reason!
I think this is because of it being an online forum, it appeals quite broadly to the technologically minded folk as I have picked up the same thing on other forums. Even the adventure biking forum I belong to (bikes, not something you would commonly associate with an IT fundi) has around 60% of it's members working in IT or a similar trade, and the same can be said for the paintball forum I sometimes frequent :goodjob2:

I think the typical man on the street buys his car and that's it - he takes it in for services and maintenance and never thinks of the vast communities that are out there just a Google search away with a wealth of information available.

Just my 2c. Oh, and I am also in the IT trade :whistler:

Either that or IT guys are lazy buggers who, instead of doing actual work, sit on forums all day
