BTW, The Bose stereo is awesome.. I tend to enjoy peace and quiet in the car, but playing more music than I have for a while as the new stereo just makes everything sound so good (even on low volumes)

Hearing lots of subtle sounds I hadn't picked up on before (and no they aren't rattles)  :whistler:
My son has Bose speakers in his 2003 Mazda 6 Sports.
Awesome sound, even to my noticeably inefficient ears. :whistler:

I was thinking the same thing as I posted my comment.. with my average hearing it is a wonder I can tell the difference (but I can)

The basic Camry stereo was probably one step better than the basic i30 Stereo but this one is in another league..

So it should for the extra coin......

True..

Me thinks beerman isn't going to stick up for my commode like he used to stick up for the hybrid

Just a quick one...

Was getting low on fuel the other day in the Calais. Under 100 kms remaining so I made a note to detour into Ulverstone on our way home.. (We were in Burnie about 30kms away)

Next thing a message comes up on the Built in 8" GPS screen.. Please select a garage from the list (or something like that)

So I selected the Woolworths one as I had a 4c voucher.. GPS gave me directions (first time we have used it)

Was super clear through the Bose speakers and she says "please"!

"please turn left at the next corner.." or some such thing...

Must be Garmin software as sounded like "Raylene?" on  our Garmin!

I can only imagine the size of the LPG tank you could fit in the back of the P.

One of my Ps is dedicated LPG with 100 litre tanks.

Will the hike in gas prices they are talking about effect LPG?

We just did a loop of Tassie in the new Calais V  over 7 days (six nights)

Did 1443 kms on 133 litres of fuel (total cost $203.55) which I calculate at an average of 9.22 L/100 kms..

Tassie is pretty hilly and lots of winding roads on our trip plus we spent 2 days cruising around Hobart which involved lots of traffic light stops and some holdups in traffic.

Reasonably happy with that taking into account the Hybrid would have probably done the same trip on $134 worth of fuel.

The car went beautifully. I found the heated seats good for my back and the GPS works really well for a built in unit.

Also love the heads up display and the way she sits so flat in the corners...

Will post a map of where we went and some photos later. Off to wash her now!

Hit a milestone the other day (better than hitting a roo!) See photo of odometer below. After more than 20,000 kms in under 9 months think I made the right choice of vehicle.

Still love the styling and the goodies!

Best Bits: Spiffy 19" wheels, classy leather interior, heads up display, power of the big 6 cylinder engine, interior space .. etc

Worst Bits: Spiffy 19" wheels (low profile tyres make ride a bit firm and transfer a bit of road noise to the cabin. Would have liked radar cruise control and auto wipers a bit slow to react.

I'm always checking out other cars wondering if I should have waited but so far no regrets...

2015 Camry Hybrid is now out and as I suspected it is ugly and no change to interior or drivetrain over my 2012 model.
2015 Honda Accord Hybrid has just been released in Australia, but would have been 10K dearer on the road than my Calais and getting average reviews.
Like the top of the range Sante Fe Diesel but would have been a few thousand more and sort of gone off diesel.
Like the New Mondeo Diesel a lot particularly styling and features and economy, but it is Ford...  :whistler:

Recent Photos of my Calais..
