This is Alvin, don't ask Sue named him(as she did Cyril)
This weekend I have been making the dual holder for the lights and the Shuroo,I have only mounted the light bars(second ones are not shown here) as the headlights are extremely good

This is a side view,I have had to also refurbish the hub caps, the original owner(a Lady, just saying)was very obviously a gutter cutter,I am surprised the car yard didn't try to dolly them up or replace them

Couldn't not show his Bum,I had a tow bar and electric brakes fitted to him also gunna have to watch myself on the tow bar when walking around the back of him

Then lastly one of the hubcaps I had to refurbish, made the extra effort and painted the centre hubs black,Boy wasn't that fun, because once my hands start shaking I have to stop for a while then go back to it,but eventually got it done. Not sure there will be any other standard hub caps out there like them.

After looking at this one I'll definitely have to do something about the rims a good scrub and repaint is in order I think

Looking good mate.

Have you shielded the air conditioner condenser? I have read that one stone can take it out, and it is rather expensive to replace. Would think that could be an issue for you given the miles you do.

Holy ****,

If you ran those lights in (the civilised part of) Europe you'd have the car impounded. Looks more like a WRC setup  :Jaw:

Rick, isn't that single light bar illegal or have they recently changed the regs? :undecided:

Regs have been changed.

Which ones?
I quick looky see on google found that the relevant ADR (13/00) is/was supposedly gonna be updated last January but I've yet to find confirmation of the changes...  :undecided:

http://www.tmr.qld.gov.au/~/media/Safety/Vehicle%20standards%20and%20modifications/Vehicle%20standards/Vehicle%20standards%20instructions/drivinglampsvehiclesguidelinemay13.pdf

Transport and Main Roads is of the opinion that this ADR requirement was set before the introduction of LED type lamps and the requirement does not reflect this new technology.

To ensure national consistency, Transport and Main Roads raised this issue with the Australian Motor Vehicle Certification Board, who have endorsed a change to the ADR to allow an odd number of driving lamps to be fitted to vehicles. Until this update to the ADR is made, Transport and Main Roads has provided this Vehicle Standards Instruction for ADR vehicles and vehicles manufactured prior to 1991.

If lamps are not fitted as pairs (e.g. one, three etc), they must be fitted to the front of the vehicle, symmetrically about the centre.

Should do here, too. But they just ignore the law.

Thanks Beerman...

Yes, I am aware of that one but consider it not really relevant as Rick is in WA, not Queensland...  :undecided:

As stated in the PDF...

Quote
Note: This exemption from complying with a part of ADR13/00 only applies in Queensland and may not be
recognised in other states or territories. Vehicle operators who travel between states and territories must
ensure that lamps fitted to their vehicles comply with the requirements in each state or territory.

I believe based on this review there is a general instruction about prosecuting pending the adoption of the new ADR.

Yeah, Rick...I'm aware they are changing but I'd still be wanting to see the amendment in black and white before I'd be fitting them...

With all that "star stuff" at the front, I can see why Sue's named him Alvin.

Wingerdave, like Cruiserfield said, the lights on Alvin are very tame, just for a comparison, here is Bruce's fit out and taken around the same time

Lights Off

Lights On

I can just about burn the paint off of the house when I come home with these
Alvin has excellent vision for a good 500m's but Bruce is a whole different story,I have excellent clear vision for up to 800 mtr's then a further 800 mtr's which shows up like normal headlights
