Sick of the old standard wheels already and these were a deal I could not refuse, but I do need to look for a fourth rim(so if  you know of anyone who has a spare 18X8J in this style) they came with 235x40x18's ZR Maxxis about 70% thread and as they are second hand,I will be doing some changes on them,to clean them up a little better

They look great Rick! But are you just running three + a standard rim?

No Dazz, only running two on the front,Long story,BUT  I have been up to mischief again,as I was unable to obtain two more eighteens,I have managed to score four more seventeens, which are very similar(without tyres)so am in the process of refurbing this lot,and colour matching them to the car,lot of work but thing they will look good when done and on,I'm hoping this album comes up here, showing before during and after and one where I have set one of the almost finished rims beside the car to check to see if my desired effect has happened.

(click to show/hide)

And  funnily enough these rims will also fit Bruce, but Bruces won't fit Alvin different centre hole sizes

Good work. Those styles start getting fiddly to prep and paint.
Don't think I like the blue on blue.

Yes I'm with you,I'm still on the fence about the blue on blue, but until they're completely done, tyres on and on the car,I'm still hopeful,I wanted to go Black with white trimming or a Darker blue with gold trim, but as the car does really belong to she who must be obeyed, this is the way we're going at the moment

Craig the first one I did was a bit ordinary, what I didn't realize was the paint I have used was not compatible with the spray putty I used,so the first rim is a little orang peeled in a couple of spots, but the paint I am using is very good,a new product out,on it's own is very, very good I've never seen it on the shelves before.

Johnno yes I have always liked this style, but they do not make them any more and I had searched for two more 18's when Iwas given the two for the car, closest I could get was this set of 17's,similar style new ones these days all up with tyres would set me back Nigh on $3000,this way of doing it takes a lot longer, but even with the X-ray scanning and my work, then going through my tyre man this option will be a tad under $900,I don'ymind doing a bit of hands on work if it's going to save me possibly $2100  :goodjob2:

Did you get some blue paint on your hair because it looks like it's reacted with the grey and turned green?

Well got some tyres on the redone wheels,I'm not 100% sure I like em,the look great off the car,but Sue said they had to be Blue over silver, put the two on the back and left the plain wheels on the front,Sue came out and said she preferred the silver,I can't win,But not changing them again for a while.

I can see some Lowering King springs in the future

You've done a good job Rick but I think I would also stick with the alloy rather than painted, alloy looks better against the nice blue duco.

A set of kings with about 1 1/2 to 2 inches knocked off would look great :goodjob2:

Since I have now scrapped the old wagon(as repair costs outweigh viability) I have a set of 75mm drop kings on it,I'm researching into weather I will be able to use them  :goodjob2:

75mm!!! the front looks like it would take that or is an optical illusion that the front has a smaller profile tyre than the rear :undecided:

If the springs are from a different brand or even model I wouldn't venture there, even if the lengths look fine the weight tolerances wouldn't match and it could throw out the whole balance of the car
