Got this back today.

This from Mentiplay Leyland:

"Completed and delivered to Dave Bryan his multi-coloured Super this afternoon.
This car was a massive undertaking for us, as it was a completely gutted shell when it was delivered to Mentiplay Leyland last year.
It is now a V8 4 speed with power steering and air conditioning, and even though it looks a touch ugly, the car is mechanically A1.

Either a repaint in "Am Eye Blue" (as it has a Casino Blue interior), or paint it white and build a replica of a 1974 RTA (Road Traffic Authority) pursuit car complete with blue lights, siren, etc.

Don't listen to what the others are saying, Dave.  To me it looks like a piece of sh...... art, waiting to be completed.

No really, I do like it!!

No its a fine example, one owner with books, oh the books just disintegrated....

I  remember when most cars getting around Logan looked like that, the ones that hadn't been  err borrowed from their owners....

Next step, some Woodridge gloss....

The best examples are applied by can in the garage of a house your about to be kicked out of....

I drove it this afternoon.
It was actually the first time I've ever driven a manual P76. All my others are autos.
What a difference. Heaps of grunt in every gear. The ratios chosen by Leyland were spot on for the 4.4 litre V8.
A whole new dynamic and very enjoyable.   :D
I'm looking forward to slowly but surely making improvements to driveability, cosmetics, etc.

On the cosmetics, the front fender matches the front door on the passengers side, wrecks the whole effect  :whistler:

I'm sure over time you will enjoy bringing her back to her former glory. Was this the one that had tree stumps for wheels a while back?

No. that's a different one. That one is in the garage.  :)
The driver's door off the multi-coloured car is wanted by someone else within the club who has the rest of the car that the door belongs to so he can have that and I'll get a replacement, but I don't know what colour.
I bought a new imitation wood kit for the interior today so the slow process of improvement has begun.  :D

I'll probably be leaving it as is for now, Rick. The clear coat idea is a good one.  :goodjob2:
It hasn't been over the pits yet but only needs a few minor things done now before it does.
I'm going to licence it on concessional (as it's over twenty five years old) because I can't afford to put them all on full licence.

I don't really know who it is, it was on a web page from the South Australian P76 owners club on how to make a p76 wagon.
