Recently washed out my engine bay and have had problems with what seem like a misfire on acceleration intermittently I assume I have water somewhere . Anyone have any ideas where ???
-
Either take off all connectors and wipe them dry 1 by 1, or try a spray of water displacement spray. Not recommended to squirt water into an engine bay, at there are many complex connectors that don't like water. Corrosive damage inside the plug can result and you won't know which one and where it is. Worst thing is it might be 6 month or a year before it fails, always at an inconvenient time. There are a few members who keep their engines clean enough to eat from, maybe they can give you some tips.

I do, but it doesn't involve water!
Pulling pending codes with an ELM327 might give an idea which sensor is have the intermittent issue. Otherwise park it in the sun for a few hours with the bonnet/hood open for an hour or two, unless you fancy pulling off all the connectors, along with the possibility of breaking some.

Did you use a power washer? you'll be surprised were the water gets into using one of them. If you can get access to a air compressor, blow off all the electrical connectors and then a good dose of WD40 or similar.

What engine do you have?
Check you havent got water around the spark plugs.
I had the same issue with my X3 excel back in the day. The car was surging.

Just another area to check....... plug leads. wipe to make sure no moisture

Depends on whether you're using Tapatalk or not....
If you are using Tapatalk, there is still the category/topic at the top of the thread...such as "The i30 Owners Club » PROBLEMS & ISSUES » DIESEL » surges on accelaration" :whistler:

That depends on the width of your Tapatalk device, but the thread was originally posted in "The i30 Owners Club » GENERAL » GENERAL DISCUSSION" :P

What's your point, Steve? :undecided:
-
The point was, that those who asked about the engine type had no clue as to his engine type. I think.
-
Thanks for the clarification, Steve... :goodjob:

I get the very top lin but not the i30 oc etc line

Just uninstalled tt and installed again.
