We have a new police car on trial here (but it will be expanded into the fleet) that has practically everything onboard, including number plate recognition technology so as it's being driven along it "reads" all the number plates (both directions) of other cars & scans the computer for anything of interest, eg unlicensed vehicle, stolen vehicle, owner under suspension, outstanding warrants on owner, etc.

Our police cars have been using ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) for years and we also have the same technology on the major entrances/exits to all cities in the UK, they tend to use that for amassing evidence of drugs being moved around.

We're always a bit behind in the colonies  :)

W.A. (Western Australia) supposedly stands for "Wait Awhile."  :undecided:

That's ok, I relate.

As long as you didn't pour hot wax over her and send her off to attach herself to other cars, then it's all good.

No, all the 57/08 plate UK i30's came from Korea and have the upper box.
When they switched manufacture from Ulsan to Novovice, the Euro models stopped getting lots of the goodies us original owners are/were privvy to, the box was only one item.......

Hmm, frankly speaking, I haven't bought them yet, actually.
Those wheel's disks are not of Hyundai ones, actually, as my car had alloy ones with summer tires initially, so I had to buy a set of 4 wheels and get it installed as it was January.

This modification to my disks might make them decent for a thief, even though I have two different locks per each wheel

O tempora! O mores!

Before it was worse (I mean 1990-2000) when thiefs used to steal the wind screen wipers.

Yes, that is what I had, I sold Hyundai Getz with 32000km on clock in Jan 2010 after owning it for almost two years.
Runs smooth, with some bang sounds wafting from suspension.
Yes, that is only one I can afford myself for the time being

I changed the wheels yesterday, it took me almost two hours. The rear wheels proved to be welded to disks, so I spent lot of time removing them (had to spray WD-40 and use another wheel in both cases).
