Well early last year I bought a FD Wagon Diesel. Thanks to the Army ramming it, it was written off.
Fast Forward to now. Just bought this little beauty. Has few kms 200k. Has one owner with books, full service history. However they lived on a rural property. So is dusty everywhere. The cabin air filter I dont think has been changed since new.....
Hope to add cruise control and audio controls. Plus few other things. Engine bay was filthy

What was the salvage value of the write off? I guess you did not keep it for spares, could have used it's wiring to do the fogs and cruise conversion
-
Hi again OBJ,
that cabin filter looks like the twin from daughters FD
-
Never got option to keep first one. Not sure where it went.
Not worry about the bumper spots. But keen on Audio and Cruise control on the steering wheel. Just got to work out how to wiring it all up etc.

audio is easy, plug and play. , cruise, not sure. there will be switches missing from the brake and clutch pedals I would think
96700-2L2504X audio control
96700-2L3504X cruise
56190-2L500 harness
93490-2H300 clock spring
these are for SLX with audio and cruise

The fact I'm on 15 tablets a day (soon to be at least 16) just to keep myself functioning is probably a complete coincidence... :whistler: :crazy1:

Yes
Other car is VE Calais V V8, but enjoy driving the i30.
Probably wont do much to it. But would like cruise, maybe small light bar as I do travel at night. Maybe some mags. Will see. I bought it cheap and don't want to over capitalise.

We had a 2014 VF Calais V V6 for 2 years (lovely car and the V8 would be nicer) but I'm guessing the CW would use around half the fuel or maybe even a bit less than half. The torque of the diesel stops them feeling gutless even when you get out of a much more powerful car. :goodjob:
A set of cheap alloys from somewhere like Bob Janes will transform the looks of the car. Sometimes they special out the smaller sizes from around 100 each. We tried two different styles on the wife's CW. Plenty of 2nd hand wheels on Gumtree and Ebay but they can be an unknown quantity.

Does seem high. Been around 9 years since we had our CRDi but i'm thinking 750 - 800 rpm idle once it settles down.

Cheers.
I haven't checked air filter yet. So will check that, I am waiting for previous owner to send me the service history. Probably do service on it. Fuel, Oil and Air Filter.
Also going to put some F10 or similar into tank.
Even it hasnt, might even do a coolant change over as well. It could be ten years old.

Sounds wise. If you are doing the labour yourself not to much cost in the consumables. :goodjob:

Would like also maybe spice it up a bit, make it a bit more individual
I like the European Rear Spoiler etc

Some guy I know :D put a video on you tube about fitting a spoiler to a CW. I don't know how hard it will be to source one now?

Interesting...
Just got back from 1200 round trip. Getting about 900km to tank. Found few other things that need sorting. Front struts and brakes shutter. So think might need to rotors

I think they may be slightly different in dimensions but would be same method of attachment, ,. :goodjob:
