Not to take away from KittiKat and her sad news that happened at this time of the year, I also lost a friend on Saturday morning at the tender age of 78....when I heard that news  and to take my mind of it, I spent the next two and half days detailing the i30.......ready for concourse and looking better than new....now to have that scotch and remember good times.....

Sad at any time Kittikat. Somehow worse at this time of year.
I lost my Dad to an aneurysm on Christmas Day, 1965.

My wife lost her father to a heart attack on Mother's Day, 1975.

What's really upsetting is that the other day I heard a news item about an "elderly" man who was in a car accident locally. He's 58.
I'm 66 and I don't feel elderly.  :disapp: I doubt he does either.

58 is far too young.
And for pets, any time is too young.

We had Samantha for 16 wonderful years and it took us three years to face having another cat. Josie has been with us for a year now. So we have wonderful memories of Sam and every day Josie finds some new way to entertain us.

All the best.

Sorry about the bad new Kittikat. Not much I can say that hasn't already been said.

-Spent most of yesterday in bed with stomach virus. I've made it to the couch today. My youngest had it over weekend and my oldest has it now.
Wife has been going nuts with Glen20 trying not to catch it for Christmas Day.
Laying the blame on the Indian families who send their kids to preschool sick as dogs with no regard for anyone else.

Thank you all for your kind words, I knew I could rely on you guys for support.   :DoubleKiss:

On the upside, Tarnie has had an operation today and things are looking up. We went to the vet this morning expecting to have her put down. After a chat to the surgeon, he had good things to say about an operation we had only heard doubts about. He said he had tied back one side of the larynx on numberous occasions with great success. We had heard all bad things from other vets, but he had hands on experience. We went with that option, and at this moment she is resting in the vets and we are hoping to be able to bring her home tomorrow. We will have to be aware of what she eats from now on, but it is better than the alternative.  He said she will need extra care for a couple of weeks and should be back to herself in four.  :happydance:

Sorry to hear about your sad news Kitti and there's not much I can add.
Good that there's a bit of light at the end of the tunnel. We know how important your animals are to you.
Wishing you all the best for Christmas and 2015.

+ Lazy Christmas Eve, finished trimming, mowing and weed spraying, then removed front skirt (from the i30 before Doggie makes a wise crack) and Dremmelled some annoying curve inconsistencies of about 2mm thickness in the manufacturing, to create a perfect seal between skirt and panel.

I'm not OCD.

- Just downloaded all my web content from my ISP's web space because I plan to shut down my ADSL2+ account. The rest of the family are fine with their mobile access and I won't be at home for the next couple of years. :blubber:

+ I've been with the same provider for the last 12 years on a no commitment plan, resisting taking their term offers and just drifting through as a loner until they shoehorned me a long time ago into a very generous package, still without a term commitment, just to clean up their books. :D

- I'll rely on the free WiFi at the Officer's Mess at a pretty meagre data rate. :scared:

- This means that some links I've posted to sites, files and images on this forum are going to go dead.  :sweating:

Having just renewed my security clearance, it's worth being mindful of where I've created a web presence. :sweating:

+ Got weighed at doctors on Monday, 118.2kg. That makes close enough to 20kg since Sept. Pretty darn happy with that.
- It's a long way from the 110kg I had set as a goal. But I had realised long ago that wouldn't happen and revised to 120kg. Next Christmas should see me under 100kg :)

Thanks for the support guys.
I'm pretty stoked so far and will be keeping up the current pace for the next 10-15kgs and then slowly ramp it down and knock off the rest at a slower pace. Been sacrificing nighttime Jeep/Hyundai work time but its worth it.
