Depends if your laws on swords are similar to ours, we can only import swords that have no edge.

Would love to see your mate's 35k swords. Truly pieces of art those things.
Though I wonder why he would have needed such a thing sharpened. He hasn't been chopping bodies in half of late, has he?

I'll take some photos of them next time I'm there, swords are direct imported from the swordsmith in Japan and only 5 swords are made each year.

He uses and trains with them, bamboo and reed subjects are the practice dummies :D though if you're caught stealing from his house you can expect to never been seen again.

We do have the law on cold weapons and a parcel with a sword inside when passed through a scanner by customs would look like it contains one and then either the parcel would be shipped back or one would be summoned to the customs with either a licence or a paper stating the content is not a cold weapon, unless there is one inside a package.

MY VIRGIN EYES!!!!!!  :scared: :blubber:

+ Washed Hippo today, she is nice and shiny again! Now just to wait for that inevitable rain :whistler:
- Some bastards broke into the Hyundai Getz standing a few cars from mine. This in a secure, access-controlled parking lot with electrified fencing all around and the parking lot surrounded by buildings. They didn't steal anything, even the radio was intact, but it looks like they fiddled with the wiring beneath the steering column possibly to try hotwire it. This concerns me because I carry about AU$5000 of stuff with me in the car for work every day, and even though it is insured, it would be a schlep to get it sorted with it being the festive season and all :(

Bit scary. Hope anything that can be backed-up, is backed-up.
Must not have been a bright car thief if he was trying to Hotwire. Won't get past the immobiliser doing that.

Luckily I don't keep anything irreplaceable in the car. My sunglasses are cheapies, they won't steal my bike frame in the boot (it's just metal, worthless to them), I take my wallet out and they won't get far with a few squash rackets and paperwork.

But, it would be an administrative nightmare WRT insurance if something were to happen.

I spoke to the lady that drives the Getz that was broken in to. She said that nothing was stolen from inside, so my guess is that they broke through the rear window (why the rear boggles my mind) and crawled in to try and hotwire the car, then realised that they wouldn't get anywhere thanks to the immobiliser.

I am going to be parking my car out front from now on, as we are right opposite the hospital parking lot with security patrols. Since I have been in PE when I moved here in February there have been four cars broken into in the section where I park, and two cars in the underground parking have had their batteries stolen out. So much for electric fences, access control and having the piece of mind of thinking my car is safe

What do you do to your belts to make them last that long? Mine last 3 or 4 years tops, then they are finished.

Well done though, just be careful not to undo it this Christmas

+ I saw another i30 today in town, but the girl driving didn't stick around

Maybe. It is only 2" wide and about 3mm thick chunk of leather I bought from the Rural Fire Service when I was still active :)
