Tesco's did a similar thing a while ago on, I think the ipad,

I ordered and within the day an email saying there had been an error on the site...

no ipad for me...............

ps watch out for a bus load of emails for this and tat......

If a shop advertise a product with a picture & you show up on the sale day, & they have not spoted the error. They are bound by law to sell to you at that price. But after the first smart cookie buys one they soon publish an error ad. I got a fishing rod & reel once at a bargain, they had put the wrong picture with the price that was supposed to be for a lesser product. So how can these online store's get away with it?

Falls under the term --- invitation to treat.

Can refuse to sell at advertised price if before the sale has been agreed an error has been spotted.

However, my understanding re web purchases is if a confirmation has been sent but money has not yet been taken/received by the seller, the seller can void.

But I've been through this so many times before, it just isn't worth debating with them.

I would argue that they are obligated to sell the stock that they had at that price.

Since they are probably using just in time ordering or dispatching from the importer, the amount of stock they have would be minimal to none.
