Hi,

I received my i30, CRDi (66kw/90hp) two months ago.

I'm very happy with this car, especially fuel economy.
It is constantly under 5 l/100km and on open roads it
drops under 4,5 l/100km.

The only drawback is absence of second remote key, which
is a problem due to inability to turn of the alarm using
the regular key, as you all probably know...

I'm not sure if the 66 kw is on sale yet in UK.

With the reduced KW/hp it appears that you will achieve a great return on fuel consumption.

You need it with the current price of diesel.

Probably a bit late after 2 months but most of us shamed our dealers into giving us a 2nd remote for nix... Go and ask your dealer the question and refer him to this site by all means..

If they aren't sympathetic you could threaten to get your servicing done by an independent qualified service centre using genuine parts... that might do the trick.

Just say "in many other countries around the world they have seen the error with supplying only one remote and now issue two as standard" (TRUE) and have in hindsight decided to supply a 2nd remote free of charge.
