Hey guys, you all know that i just got my SR... Well the sound system is good and all.... BUT i am young n i have never owned a car that doesnt have at least one sub and minimum six speakers. Well i have six speakers... An amp somewhere hidden in the car and no sub...

 The bass is somewhat to be desired in the SR. It goes good but i need more punch.

Question... Does anyone know where this amp is located??? I really dont want to go pullin my car apart to find the amp. And also does anyone know if it is running direct power from the battery? Is the amp running low power rca's or running high power inputs.

The answers to these determine alot for future sound planning.

My first guesses for the amp locations is under driver or passenger seat if not hidden behind the dash. check under the seats and let us know

Yeah im hopin its under a seat. Better not be behind the dash ill cry.... OVERHEAT!!!!!!! AAAAArggghh.. When i get a chance ill have a peep.

I'd put my money on behind the dash.

cheers guys. i just purchased a new SR and should be getting it sometime next week. so im curious as to where the amp is located. the sales guy told me that a little unknown feature is that the i30 SR also has jbl speakers instead of the stock hyundai ones.

anyway, im located in adelaide australia. cheers for the warm welcome.

The amp: I was told today by my dealer that it's located near the fuel cap somewhere in the gap between the boot housing and the metal chassis. Which is excellent news if you want to make modifications I guess.

IF you do manage to get in to this, please take some photos for the rest of us

Ah ha... Thank you... My sales lady told me that it was a little box behind the dash. She had no idea so i have not even attemped to locate her "little box" however i might have a crack at the cargo panels...  Thanx

Oh also i dont know who makes the speakers but they are definately not genuine hyundai speakers. SR has a major audio upgrade
