To celebrate with you here is my first question: The car sales person said that I should fill the tyres to 38 psi rather than the 32 recommended by Hyundai because the 32 are recommended for comfort but 38 would prolong the life of the tyres (an he thought it wouldn't affect ride comfort that much anyway). I am not too fussed about how long the tyres last but am attracted by the proposition to inflate the tyres more so as to get better milage. Any one out there with an opinion on tyre pressure?

Hi LowEmission i30,

On the recommendation of Lakes and a couple of others I recently upped my pressures from 32 all round to 36 all round and it could be a coincidence but my economy has improved a couple of points from 5.3-5.4 to 5.1-5.2 (Diesel Crdi) and doesn't seem to have hurt the ride much if any... 38 might just be pushing it a bit.
