Any recommendations (good/bad experiences) with Hyundai Servicing Centres – the nearest for me would be Maddington, but there is also Melville/Myaree, Osborne Park, Welshpool/Victoria Park (John Hughes), Midland, Morley and Wangara.

Welcome to the Club Aaron.. You guys are lucky to have so much choice :goodjob:
In Tassie we only have one Hyundai Dealer with 4 sites :Pout:

You'll probably find that each site will have it's own reputation.

Yes, but the local one is only average (6kms away) next closest is 50kms then 100kms and 300kms :whistler:

Yes - all good and well ladies - but what about my original question?
-
Midland, Maddington & Morley are all DVG, plus another one north of the river, not sure which one.
JH is independent.
I'm afraid I haven't had good experiences with dealership servicing.
With my last car (FD diesel) I went to DVG Midland and vowed never to go back (long story).
I've been to Morley DVG only once for warranty work with my new GD which was a waste of time, as expected.
On my last car I didn't trust the JH service centre but I did have a good run using their mobile service van. It cost $10 extra per service but if you say you are a Shoprite member and book online you get that back.
I was able to supply my own oil which I knew was actually being used because the service was done in my driveway, plus I was guaranteed the same mechanic every time because they seem to have their own areas that they cover.
Where it came unstuck was at the 90,000 km service when they wanted a ridiculous amount for it (couldn't be justified) so ever since I've been going to a non-Hyundai place called Midland Autoplus in Midvale.
Hope this helps.

Sort of fits in with the whole Tassie being "related" thing, hey Daz... :whistler:

I like the idea of a mobile mechanic when I am at home at the weekend. Somebody that I can build a relationship with irrespective of which car I own. Can anybody recommend a fully qualified mobile mechanic that can do recommended (for warranty purposes) services? Preferably somebody who works for himself i.e. it's his business and he'll do the utmost - unlike an employee.
-
John Hughes? :undecided:
-
I found this mobile mechanic – seems to be an owner operator (Tom) with excellent testimonials:

has anybody used him?
-
No, but worth a look.

Welcome to the forum, Amijane. :goodjob:
It sounds like you've had a similar experience to me at Midland.
I now go to a privately owned service centre in Artello Bay Road, Midvale who are great.
-
Welcome Amijane,
Thanks for the info, perhaps you might like to elaborate a little more on why you feel this way.

wouldn't use Melville ever again in a pink fit,I have heard Midland is good, have had a Friend use Maddington a few times,he was happy with them, also there is a place called Korean Motors in Welshpool road,I know a lot of Hyundai PPl go to him,he is half the price, supposedly does a good job and has all the required equipment.
I deal with Northam, just got to try a couple or more and see who fits the bill for you, convenient location is not always the best
-
Korean Motors was only $50 under Morley Hy for the 30k service (over the phone quote). Made the mistake of going to them (Morley) and was very disappointed with customer service, not the vehicle service, so I'm taking my business to Midvale where db8 goes, with both the Accent and the i30.
-
Purely personal, but I don't like the look of Korean Motors and wouldn't take my car there.
Midland Hyundai counted themselves out very early and Morley a little later.
My last two services by the book (7500 & 15,000) were both $177.35 with me supplying the oil.
-
How come the identical price?
I thought the 7500 k one would just be an oil and filter change... :undecided:
-
He was probably in a hurry and just changed the date & kms etc. :D
