Hi all,
Nice to know you all. My car is Hyundai i30 GD Premium. Recently the panoramic sunroof clip clips (for the back passenger side) had snapped, resulting in the blind remain on open position, i.e. retracted back. Front portion still works, opening and closing with no issues.
Any idea if any of you can introduce me to mechanic in Perth (Western Australia) who can repair this? Replace with new clips perhaps? Would any third party mechanic know hoe to replace the clips or do I have to go to dealer service centre? How much do you think this will cost?
Thank you.

Welcome kester,
I'm not in WA but if you don't get any other replies, my suggestion would be to google sunroof repairs in WA and then get a quote from whoever comes up after checking google for reviews and compare with a quote from a Hyundai Dealer. Most likely the dealer would use a 3rd party repairer anyway (and add a margin)

Hi Dazzler,
Thank you. Good suggestion, just checked online. Google kinda found 1 in Perth. Hoping for someone who can introduce me to good mechanic for this repair. :)

You could try Prestige Sunroofs in Kardinya first, if they’re unable to do it then Hyundai is your next option.
Sunroofs aren’t really a mechanics area of specialty.

Good thing i'm a Technician then eh Craig :P :P
Your blind has a broken retainer. Unfortunately this is a rather involved replacment as the clips are part of the cable.
Whoever does the job will need to remove the rooflining and blind mechanism to replace.

So you're a blind technician? Should have guessed from your taste in alternative cars. :whistler:

Since it has become the third vehicle it's just not practical.
The plan is to buy my parents 80 series off them, then we can tow, fit dogs/bikes/camping gear etc.

Any idea if I can find third party tech who can do this, other than dealer service centre?

I would talk to a panel shop. Not sure if they can do it but worth asking.

I did mention previously that Prestige Sunroofs in Kardinya should be able to do it.
