Do you mean the stalk is loose or the round bit at the end?

If round bit then doesn't that just screw tight.

If the stalk then i would think it would be a warranty repair as it will relate to the linkages under the facia and engine compartment.

It its this silver knob on shift lever end where you have got 1,2,3,4,5,6,r its just moving left and right in my hand when Im changing gears ;. its annoying because when Im changing on reverse its just move to left for example and twisting my hand

I think that is something to do with the linkage below the facia.

It will have to be removed or i wonder if you can get to it underneath.

I would say Yes but get it booked in so they can check it out in the workshop.

I had similar when i had my Accent and it was the linkage which required to be tightened that's why i asked if it was the stick or the knob.

No probs..

Let us know how you get on.

By the way, do you have a problem getting it to go into gear as if there is a block but if you up the revs a bit it then slips in?

I'm guessing there is a locking screw that has come loose (I doubt it's the linkages)

But I have been known to be wrong  :disapp:

Mrs Gonz's 95 SEAT Cordoba has the same problem and I've not been able to determine what's gone wrong. Does anyone have an insight regarding this car? Is there a similar locking screw required somewhere? :-[
