Title: Rear brake caliper refurbishment question
Post by: lewo on August 19, 2020, 22:24:08
Hey everyone. Hoping for some advice. My GD needs new calipers and, being the cheapskate I am, I opted for some old ones from a broken i30. I also bought a repair kit including all the seals and o rings I need.

However, there is one bit that strangely isn't included in the kit - a starlock-type locking washer (see pic). The washer sits under a rubber seal and it holds the handbrake mechanism in the caliper. I've found similar washers online but they all seem to have 6 prongs and not 5 like on the original. A lot of the online ones also seem to be folded over so the edges are pointing downwards (if that makes sense?)

I can't complete the job without this silly little washer. I'm hoping that one of you has completed the same job and knows where to get these. Any help would be much appreciated.
