Thanks for the update.
I understand why you would be disappointed with that level of service.  :disapp:
I guess at least they are fixing the damage they caused.

I guess you won't be going back there then. I hope the clutch is fixed.

However today my car was fixed and ready for me to pick up!

So what exactly was the problem found to be the problem?

Presumably not "Engine running rough causing resonance through the drive train" as was suggested to me in an earlier post?

My little  two second 'squeak and grind' hasn't occurred recently so hopefully whatever it was has cleared without using injector cleaner.

All I've been told is what I said on the previous page that it was a known problem I think with the thrust bearing/plate (?).
The invoice I got says
"checked and found clutch pressure plate distorted causing noise and abnormal wear to clutch plate, replaced clutch and pressure plate assembly"
...so the above proves they should have never asked me to pay for the plate as it was caused by the warranty problem?!
The parts listed on the invoice are 'disc assy-clutch' & 'cover assy-clutch'. plus they machined the flywheel.

I picked up my car!

Today was day number 30. They probably did 2 days of mechanical work total on the car.

The clutch noise seems to be fixed.

The damage to the car/panels seems to be fixed.

The car was covered in thick white dust. The interior upholstery is covered in white dust and driver's floor mat covered in dirt. It's disgusting.
I will have to spend 3+ hours cleaning it all this weekend.

I will be calling Tynans head office to complain about the ordeal and then I'll call Hyundai customer care to complain also.
I can't stress this enough - do not deal with Tynan Motors. This has been the worst automotive experience of my life. They have no idea what they are doing.
Every single person who I tell about my experience has either had a similar or worse experience with Tynans OR know people who have.

PS the cruise control in the 2013 i30 petrol auto loan car was terrible. It goes 10km/h above AND below the speed you set it at. Hopefully that doesn't happen to anybody else's car!

Thanks for the update..

We have had one or two petrol owners report that cruise control issue. The CRDi version is apparently a lot better in that regard.

The Diesel is solid as a rock, I do a lot of freeway hill travel, the car never changes gear, even when I drive like an old fogey. But my 3.8lt petrol Holden is all over the place on CC.  :fum:

Hi Hman

Sorry to hear about all that trouble.

Not the topic of this thread I know, but this line caught my attention:

 plus they machined the flywheel.

This proves to me that the FD CRDi do not have the DMF as you can't machine a flywheel if it's not massive.

I personally can confirm that i30 CRDI does not have Dual Mass Flywheel!!

Have changed the clutch on a i30 CW 2012 becouse noice came from the clutch.... I changed the flywheel and the whole clutch package including the bearing. The customer have not came back after that.

Your ongoing feedback about different i30 issues would be very much appreciated (hint hint)
