After 4.5 years my i30 developed an annoying rattle from the instrument cluster.

It took two attempts to spot and resolve the issue - the clear plastic cover over the instruments has two tabs in the top that connect it to the dial housing. The two (quite brittle) tabs had snapped off allowing it to rattle.

I couldn't really afford the time for it to go into the dealer, so two small tabs of expoxy putty on the stubs of the tab sorted it perfectly.

Glad you found it. Most rattles are hard to locate. Have a vw golf that does that as well, and have not been able to locate it

I'll have to remember that in case mine does the same.

Oddly I only seem to notice a rattle in my i30 when I have one particular passenger in the car, it doesn't do it any other times.    Though maybe it is just that my passenger is rattling.
