Hey I have found rust on some parts of my engine compartment like shown in the image: Imgur: The most awesome images on the Internet
Do you suggest me to use a dremel to remove this rust (but at which level of grit?). Then paint it? But what type of paint do you recommend and how many coats should it be given? I guess I need one that is non corrosive and that can withstands heat... But again which type brand is good?
Also, how do you suggest me to clean the bolts? I can't run a dremel on them because they'll start to shape out differently...

Just use some rust converter like this stuff Motospray Spray One Step Rust Coverter & Primer/Sealer 250ML there's many brands about.

put the bloomin dremel away and do what Craig said...  it will convert the rust and prevent a furtherence of same then chcuck some colour on if ya want.   Defo do not start vandalising your car with a dremel

I have used Waxoyl on my odd bits of rust on bolt heads. I have also used the same to paint the rear axle, and all the suspension links front and back.

for future reference, I'd be inclined to soak those bolts and replace them.
