Hi everyone :) I am a mere female so please be kind.
When winding down drivers window I heard a rattle then glass breaking. Should I take it to a mechanic, glass repairer or auto electrician?  Probably a silly question for most of you but I need advice.  Thanks in advance

Do you still have a drivers window?

I would think this is the classic regulator failure, may have sounded like glass when it let go.

If you know someone handy DIY repair, otherwise it will be expensive.

You can get genuine new complete assembly panel but you will have to remove the speaker rivets and move the speaker to the new panel.

I've done 3 of mine so far, common failure. There's places claiming reinforced clips  etc for very high prices, I'm skeptical.

If you get a used one, keep in mind heat and age makes the plastic brittle, so a used unit may last, it also may not.
