I'm getting the aparently well known steering wheel knocking issue on my GD2 i30.

My local Kmart Tyre and auto is quoting $440.  Is this about right?  Feels expensive for a $50 plastic part?  Anyone has this fixed and happy to share the price they paid?

It's more like a $10 part and should be doable for around $250 (or $300 maximum) Shop around.

A good DIY'er could do it themselves with some video links and advice from our gurus..

I know him too but tells me he needs a commercial example before producing his own. :crazy1:

Went to two other shops, MIDAS and Bridgestone (both local, but chain).

Bridgestone $600
MIDAS $550 but happy to charge $400 after I told them about the Kmart price.

Might see if I can find a local non-chain.

Jeez!!

$550  Jeez, Louise ... or another name starting with L  :winker:

Even a trusted local with the time and interest to consult the online tips'n'tricks relevant to your model will be better value than what you've been told.

Maybe ring around asking for anyone to match that $240.
Personally, even the $240 brings a tear to my pocket.
