  • Wirral, UK. - 1.4 Petrol Active - Aqua Blue
A New Zealand activist who has unlawfully painted yellow line parking restrictions outside his house in Wellington for the last 20 years says he has done so to improve road safety and to protest against gentrification.

Like this comment from the council, who rather than slapping him with a fine/court order, seem to appreciate the problem ......

unlikely that Mr Taylor would be punished for his long-running, unofficial road-marking campaign.

"Given the glorious and healthy history of civic activism in Holloway Road, we would rather not pick an unnecessary fight with the locals," he said.

They'll get rid of them, someone will have a serious accident, they will have 6 months of meetings and decide to do something to make it safer (but that will take another 6 months to implement)  :crazy1:

Interesting how BBC thinks NZ is in Asia (I thought we were Oceana?)  :undecided:

Coming from Wellington, I know Holloway Rd quite well.
The old roads around the city are steep and tight.
If you look at the bottom picture you can just see his garage entrance. Like many others, it will be hacked into the side of the hill ; just wide enough to park the Ford Prefect and to open the driver's door.

Mr Taylor's parking problem remains unresolved, because all the Prefects, except his, have died and now our new Vanguards can't fit in any garage.
