Hi all, new to the club and needs some advise from members.
Today I was trying to install a blackvue and power magic pro into the i30 PD 2018. But noticed something isn't right. I tapped the powermagicpro yellow wire to a constant power fuse and the red wire to the starting power fuse. The blackvue powers up without problem but when the keys to off position , the blackvue powers down. I am not sure what I am doing wrong. Tried other fuse for constant power and still the same issue. Is there something I am doing wrong? Any advise will be very grateful.

Hi! And welcome to the forum.

I have the same Blackvue camera, however not the UPS for it .. You've indicated where you've tapped the lines to, however it's not reflected in the diagram that you've posted.

- Have you consulted the manual for the Blackvue?
- Is there a setting in the APP/firmware that you'd need to change for it to put itself in parking mode?

@CraigB might be able to advise he's right into cameras with UPS backup.

I don't use the PMP module with mine so I'm not fully familiar with the setup, I know Red goes to a Power Outlet or ACC (switched) fuse - Yellow to a constant fuse like interior lamps - Black (not mentioned) goes to ground.

Maybe the PMP installation guide and video can explain further settings, there's a downloadable manual as well BlackVue Power Magic Pro

I will check my Blackvue powermagic tomorrow (when more sober) to see which fuse taps i used. I recall a similar problem with mine with insufficient voltage <13v at fuse box supply. Also set powermagic dip switches to lowest volatge

I recall most cameras also have an UPS (or shutdown time) option to be turned on in the menu. Perhaps it's there and still off.

The very last post is interesting regarding the PMP voltage settings, if the cut off voltage isn't set correctly the PMP wont turn on.

Bad earthing is another major issue according to Autobahn manager where I purchased my dashcam. It has to be a good earth, you cant really see it in my pictures but paint is removed from the earth lug bolt threads as well
