This thread has me thinking:-

:link: 2010 i30 Diesel Transmission Vibration

I have read of the negative issues with the i30 diesel clutch in the 2007-2012 model but am wondering how many of the owners of these vehicles have had no clutch problems.

We did about 68k in 28 months in our March 2008 SLX i30 CW without any clutch issues.

Daz, don't tell me the SLX came in a Manual!

I settled for an SX cw just to get manual!

On 145,000km and going well so far! (Touch wood)

We have also towed a 1 tonne camper for more than 10,000km

The SLX hatch came in a diesel manual but the cw had to be an SX to get the manual.

Yep, our first i30 diesel was an slx manual. When we got the Cw in 2010, like you said only base model got manual option. No Manual option at all in 2015 tourer!

That was a relief, I knew the hatch was available as an SLX manual, just got confused when you mentioned 'CW'

My next Hyundai is likely to be another crap model just to get a manual too! Woo for a poxy Santa Fe active diesel

My 2008 (December 2007 reg) have now done 251.000. As I bought it @ 126.000 I don't know if it's the original clutch, but in my time I've towed 1350 kg caravan at least 20.000 km without ever having problems with it getting hot or the smelly clutch syndrome.

Only minor issue I have is that I can't let go of the clutch in idle without a little shudder, but as I've never tried another I don't know if this is normal, maybe because it doesn't have a Dual Mass Flywheel..? It haven't changed in the 125.000 km I've had the car...

Mine is the same, with taking off. Never thought of it as being a problem. My petrol Elantra was the same

no problem with clutch here , that is forward, but on a steep hill in reverse  :fum:
but forward could go up any hill from idle just ease out clutch no throttle needed no shudder, but you get clutch shudder in anything that the driver who normally drives drops the clutch hard a lot.
good operator from new should have smooth but could be motor doing the shuddering.

Another question to go with this post would be "what type of driving do you do?"

The driving I do on my 120-150km return daily trips is through a mountain range and in and out of towns, so I'm constantly changing gear.  I wonder if those who are driving at a constant speed on the highway without changing gears have had the vibration problem, or if it is related to actually using the clutch.

Possibly doing heaps of km's has no relevance to this problem.  Dunno.
