I read in another topic that there is a DRL fuse in the engine bay. Check out it's off / on logic. All the logical switching may have already been done for you and the correct fuse would be protecting the correct circuit.

PS  Use a TEST LAMP to check the fuse logic.  :neutral:

I looked for an obvious fuse to be honest but thanks for the thought, there is no mention of any dedicated DRL fuse in my car even if it was "top of the range" at the time.  :winker:

It might have only been included from MY10 or MY11 :idea:
