Title: New battery
Post by: ABSi30 on March 27, 2018, 15:30:44
My battery on i30 crdi fell victim to the spells of cold weather we have had in the North East. Replaced under warranty with a new Bosch one. I was worried that it might have been the glow plugs. Talking to my mate who helped to maintain a fleet of high powered vehicles he mentioned that sometimes the old ones were a devil to remove. They hit on the perfect idea by soaking around the plugs overnight with wait for it " Hi Barry Scott here " you've got it Cillit Bang. It never failed.
Hope now Spring is here.

Old one 4 year warranty fitted back in October 2015. Unusual make, had 14,000 miles on clock now has 24,000 only,  coming up to 7 year old. Much better one refitted. Very pleased.

When you say unusual do you mean name was or an import
 Can you recall the name?

4 years so you got a good deal given you got the new one now and you say a better quality.......

Much better quaintly the Bosch one I think. The one that failed was something like the Yuasa make.

Guess is normally pretty good and has been around forever.
They also make motorcycle batteries which have to be pretty robust.
But batteries can be a lottery at the best of times.
