Hello to everyone,
Since I've got my i30 1.6crdi(2009) sometimes my clutch is slipping under high load(specialy on 4 and 5 gear when acelerating). I lift the car on ramp and notice that there is some oil leak betwen the engine and the gearbox. The leak is not from the crank seal because the flywheel is dry (crank seal side).
The question is should I open the gearbox to replace the seal or is replacible after removing the cluch release bearing and fork?

I'm guessing no warranty remaining?
If it is the input shaft seal leaking you have to open the gearbox.

Thank you very much! I release that yesterday and now I'm 100% sure that the gearbox must be open to replace the input shaft seal !!!  Is there any who can help with gearbox reassembling step by step - will save me time and hassle. Thank you very much!

Hi,
I forget to state on the picture is not my gearbox. It's a picture of different one, just to know about the seal replacement procedure,so to change the input shaft seal gearbox have to be open!

Right, was a bit puzzled but ok now. Yes you do have to open the gearbox and dismantle almost entirely. Not a job for an amateur (I don't know your mechanical background)
