Hi to all,

I tried to find same problem on forum but didn't found it.
I have Hyundai i30 1.4, 2013y petrol engine.
It happens sometimes that when i change gear and want to accelerate rpm goes up fast my my car is at same speed.
I don't feel acceleration, no additional power, also for example I'm in 4th gear and he give proposal that I should switch to higher gear to 4th and rpm goes wild up.
youtube link from video what I recorded in my car.

I was on service and they didn't found nothing.
Did anyone had same problem?

Thanks.

Looks like your clutch is slipping. Can you smell burning when the RPM increases and no acceleration?

Yes I felt some smell when RPM went high, also told them on service but it seems to me that they don't know what are they doing.

Definitely a clutch problem of some sort. How many KM's has the car traveled

It wouldn't be uncommon to need a new clutch after 75000K if its been driven hard or if the clutch has been ridden too much, i.e. holding the car stationary on a hill using clutch and not the hand brake. Even hill starts using poor technique could accelerate wear (not suggesting you've done this, maybe a previous owner? :) ). Go and get some quotes from a brake and clutch specialist and get prepared to have a new clutch installed. I doubt there will be any form of adjustment available to get a few more kms out of your current setup. Really its no big deal getting a new clutch and it shouldn't cost the earth.

They changed my clutch under warranty after two visits and discussion with them.
But only after I saw that oil is leaking from clutch. (semering).
They also saw it but didn't want to admit until I didn't saw oil than they didn't make problem and changed without any more discussion.
I don't know is that quality problem with i30 or only happened to me.

Not a quality problem with i30 quality (usually) Hyundai use quality mechanical parts like Bosch, Garrett etc...

Not a lot of premature clutch failures reported on here.
