hi guys

i have a 2012 i30 2.0. and its really acting up, the power steering is not working, the tail lights, fog lights and park lights wont go on, and the air blower wont blow although the Aircon works.  ontop of that, both the eps, esp and the traction control warning lights came on and stayed on.  please help me.

Not nice..  :undecided:

Sounds like a bad earth connection somewhere.

Have you a blown fuse?

Still in warranty, have you used recovery and so ask dealer to check it
  • 1.4 Petrol Active I'm no expert, so please correct me if

Good point. Last time you reported an electrical fault it turned out to be a blown fuse.

What's your warranty period in Namibia?

Sorry to hear that, but having all those things go at once is probably a good thing as sounds like a system failure rather than a component failure if that makes sense.

Like the others say, maybe a fuse or an earth or both. Problem is something may have failed, to blow the fuse (if that proves to be the case)

Where's Wally I mean Tim!

Do you get 5 years warranty over there?  :undecided:

Edit: My system had a hissy fit and Shambles snuck in while I was reposting...

Yup - they will. The Power Steering (EPS), which is also known as MDPS (internally to Hyundai it seems - MDPS for Motor Driven Power Steering), is part of the electronic stability/traction control system (inputs at least).   So if, for whatever reason, it stops working... the others turn off too (hence the warning lights).

In regards to why :wts: - fuses and/or grounding could be issues.   Fuses, like all things, can fail by themselves (i.e.  bad manufacture) but if a fuse has blown - I would be wondering why.

You aint gonna get all that from one blown fuse.
Bad earth, maybe. CANBUS malfunction, possible but probably not relating to lights.

If i get a chance ill have a geez at some schematics and see if i can figure something out.

Good! Be a lot easier for the dealer to diagnose it than us from 1000's of miles away. Hopefully our suggestions help a bit though.
