Unfortunately, that type of deal will result in two opposing opinions.

Find out what was done at the last service. Check all electrical leads and connectors. They may have missed reconnecting something properly.

Add 500 mill of metho to your fuel to eliminate any water condensate in the fuel tank. Diesel owners DON'T DO THIS!

Check all spark plug leads with a multimeter to make sure none have been damaged internally.

I like to think people are trustworthy but I cant help thinking the engine mount is just an excuse to get some money from me whilst they check the leads and such .

A stuffed engine mount WILL have an effect on smoothness of the engine, but it's rather coincidental. Why didn't they notice it at the service.

Yep, why didn't they notice it?  Also,  I now need 2 fan belts as the current ones are apparently worn.  These were also not picked up at the last service <4 months ago!

Can you go to another service centre?

So many engine options in these cars but just to clarify, Dave's has the 1.8 so it will be coil on plug IGN, thus no plug leads etc.
I note they have variable intake runners, appears to be vacuum operated.
Can Cruiserfield please advise if they have been known to stick or perhaps lazy in operation?
The system was on my old S13 Silvia with Ca18det engine.
Gave no trouble but a lot of junk for a very small improvement in that engine.
And as the Hyundai has VVT on both cams I can't see why they bothered.
