A few weeks a go I entered my crdi in a local hillclimb, and had a few cameras along for the ride. I managed to win the class, beating a couple of XU1 Torana's.

Thanks for all your feedback.
Preparation was limited to increasing the tyre pressures to 45psi, fitting a secondary bonnet restraint ( a ratchet strap did the job ) and I've previously fitted a larger rear sway bar and a tuning box. Oh, I did give it a wash too.

Daz, I got a lot of good comments about the car, some thought it was a hire car but most couldnt believe it was a diesel.
Strangely though, the guys in the Torana's didn't seem all that impressed by it....

That is a bit strange.. I guess they figured it should be able to beat something around 35 years old (But they were quick in their day )

One of my first cars was an LC Torana with Flared guards and 7 inch wide tyres but was only a 2250cc (149CU?) 4 on the floor.. pretty gutless

Daz the Hoon?
Big wheels but with a small motor, perhaps that combination kept you out of trouble?
