Hi there people,

here's a short clip of my I30 using a K&N air filter.
I'm happy for purchasing this filter, it was worth the money spend.

I'm using a cone version of the k&n filter and its very noisy. I've run the filter in front of the radiator with 3" tubing and my intake temps have halved from what they were with a stock air box.

I did the same to my wife's Pulsar and yes it is noisier (which I enjoy  :goodjob: , and it performs a bit better I found.
However my car is still under warranty, I'm also planning to swap it for a CRDI.

i used to do the same with my corolla!

:goodjob: alin! did you have to do some mods for the temp sensor? i remember doing something like that for my corolla ...

No mods at all, just pulled out the stock filter, and slapped in the new one :)
It drives better although nowhere near as loud as a CAI I fitted to my Pulsar.

i tried to get a pic looking through the grill to show elleb but the pic only shows the grill.  :disapp: I'm not sure how to get the pic without removing the grill.

Thanks 2i30's,
Try using a flash when you take the shot and /or  take it from the underside looking up.
Try to set the focus point /distance on the air filter, not the grill.
Maybe mount a light  in the wheel arch to illuminate the area to be photographed.

At least with digital we can try this and that to get the best outcome

 Appreciate the thought... 2i30's

Fitting my "Spider" on Tuesday ready for the Easter run up north...

 Cheers

I've got a K&N filer which is flat like the original, not the cone type CAI.
However i attached a link to the K&N set of instructions for a CAI of an I30.
The pictures could have been larger IMO.

Fitting a CAI is VERY easy in my opinion and safe. The best thing one should do is somehow add an 3" extra fireproof flexible conduit to the system to bring cool air from underneath the car.
Ideally the best way is to have the filter somewhere at the front of the car so air hits it first thing and also shielded so it doesn't suck hot air from inside.
The car is nowhere near as dirty as it seems in the pics but my missus drives daily in a road constructions area where there's a lot of dust.
K&N recommends that the filter is cleaned and oiled every 50 000 miles. I do it every year meaning about 20 000km due to harsher conditions.
I also use their stuff, nothing else for cleaning and oiling.

Here's a link to my Pulsar short CAI:
