Not me, but they do seem quite reputable. Decent postage to Australia too (2.44 earth pounds)

You got a price for the reprogramming yet?

Oh, and welcome to the forum, ilean :)

I have just bought second hand the 2009 1.6 ltr diesel.  Love the car and did a fair bit of research before deciding on this vehicle.  Only 1 key came with the car and I really need another.  As I am an older lady in Australia I would be greatfull if anyone has bought a key on eBay from fobkeysbank in the UK.  They have quoted 45 pound plus,  if  I can supply the key number an extra 15 pound.  It will be ready to programme into my existing unit.  Is there anyone out there that has purchased a key for their i30 from eBay.  Thanks

I haven't had to purchase an extra key but someone on the forum will be able to respond to that.
In the meantime, welcome to the forum.  :)

Hi Eileen, I an not aware of mentioning this crowd until you bought them to our attention. A genuine remote key fob is quite expensive (Several hundred $ last I heard) This crowd on Ebay looks ok  :goodjob:

Thanks everyone I have started a new post with extra info.   I would love to get some feedback from someone who has delt with fobkeysbank before I purchase.  Nothing worse than not being able to return as I am in Australia.  I shall try to delete this post..

...They have quoted 45 pound plus...

Seems cheaper than that in the eBay listing. Are we looking at the same eBay supplier?

Hi to all,
If you read on further in his adds fobkeysbank does state all the services.  Anyway, he has asked for the part number on the back of my key and says that it is 100% programmable to my car by any locksmith.  Being so far away I gave him a stern warning to see me right as I am posting this info on the i30 car owners club.  Am now awaiting another reply.

Umm. That's not right.

Hyundai use a V2P system (Vin To Pin) to program your new fob into the BCM (Body Control Module). The Pin is generated by Hyundai systems.

I should know this as my new keyfob was incorrectly "pinned" by Hyundai themselves, crippling my i30 for two days as a result.

To double check if the key can be programmed I phoned my local locksmith.  On his advise I took my key to him to check if he can do the job.  He can do it for $170 and does have to use the new system.  So with all the checking I have done I shall take a leep of faith and order they fob key.  All up this key will cost  about $270.  I shall get back to the post when the job is finished.

Either way, that's a lot of money for a key, what's involved in programming, can't be that hard surely  :fum:

Cant you get a proper one from the dealer for that sort of money? Seems silly to go through ebay and a locksmith when a dealer can do it in one swoop?

Yes, but assuming the 8 digit code was correct, it would've been a 5 minute operation. These prices are daylight robbery.  :fum:

My car, a Holden, has a security code which was unknown to me, had a battery fail & even GMH only charged $20 to access the code, 1 phonecall. I grizzled about that price.  :fum:

I agree, but where is the locksmith going to get that code (assuming he has the correct interface (if any) to initiate a conversation with the BCM)

Which is why you don't go to a locksmith. Hy should provide the service at a reasonable rate.

BTW, thanks for the colour changes too, looks good.  :goodjob2:

Fobkeysbank need to know if my i30 was built in Europe.  433 mhz is the frequency used in european i30's.  I phoned a dealer who hasn't got back to me yet and didn't know where these cars were built.  He did offer me a key for $330, or if I purchase one on ebay $60 for the programming.  With the exchange rate and postage +program I might be only saving $60 but it is the principle that all to often we get robbed by the dealers.  Does any person know where they are built.

All Aussie i30's come from Korea (not Europe) sounds like you are best to buy off ebay and then get Stealer to program it  :goodjob:

Believe me we know these things .. we can tell from the VIN (Vehicle identification number)  :goodjob:

The i20 is built in India (All other Hyundai's sold in Australia, as far as I know,  are made in Korea - the i30 has been from day one)

Please don't shout

Check your vin no, all Korean cars start with KMH & besides too far to send a car from Europe to Oz, although there may be a shipment of CW's if some members have their way
