  • Sorry, but my karma just ran over your dogma.
I'm thinking of fitting a couple of spotties to my CW diesel as I do a bit of country road driving at night. I know there are air bag sensors in the front of the vehicle and was wondering if fitting the lights and mounting bracket would impact on either vehicle safety or warranty.

I've attached a pic of the sort of thing I'm looking at, but with smaller rectangular lights. The bracket fits where the front number plate mounts.

Any thoughts from the knowledgeable folk in the forum?

Hi U.M. another of our members has very recently done this mod (very similar to your pix)

See here..

I think it might look better with the smaller rectagular lights you are considering..

As Ian says doubt it would effect the airbag sensors

Thanks for the feedback. I spoke to my local Hyundai dealer regarding the spotlight bracket interfering with the air bag sensors. No problems apparently. The air bag sensors are nowhere near the front bumper.

UM, when you've got thel ights fitted, if there is some evidence of vibration in the spread of light from the spots, you may need to brace the top of them. You used to be able to get these from performance shops so I guess they'd still be around.
All depends on how firmly the bar is mounted and how heavy the lights are.

Where do those light bars come from?
I'm thinking I wouldn't mind one.

I got mine from REPCO for $40 on specail. Thinks they are $70 usually.  A tip is to use 4 screws and i have changed to the anti-theft ones as well as anti theft of the spotties. HID upgrade in next on the list. Don't get me wrong these lights are Awesome with the capital A lol, but i think the white light with the 55w upgrade looks the goods.

HID is cash!!!

maxima has HID low beams, i did have HID high beams, but i dont think they like the constant on and off (ie being turned on and off when cars come) they only lasted about a year, but the low beams are still going strong!
