Can't recall even looking at Renault links lately, but been getting random Renault Megane adverts in my feed.

Anyway, just out of interest I checked them out and excluding the reliability concerns the styling and features are quite nice.

They are doing a clearance of 2016 stock (still!!!) at "Special" drive away prices see image below.

Now I would have wanted the top of the range GT to get similar features to my SR. $8000 more than I paid! Can you imagine the depreciation on a 2016 Renault Megane as soon as you drove it out of the showroom!!!

As an ex-Renault owner, I appreciate the Frenchness that is embracing quirky, often unfriendly engineering, styling and function - Vive la difference indeed! :crazy2:

I had a Renault for 4 years 1978-82 I think. I have fond memories too..

They usually have comfy seats and well sorted suspension. Mine was even reliable!

But they are certainly quirky in some ways and a bit of a lottery (and I'm no gambler)  :sweating:

The only Renault I drove years and years ago was a square looking one with the quirky gear change on the dash that pushed in and out  I think it was a 4 GTL.

This is what I had before Firty: Renault Fuego

There's even a reference to an enterprising engineer building remote locking systems for it. :winker:
