Hi guys,
I need to change my i30 1.4 2015 tyres soon. The size is 195/65R15 H91.
Can you recommend me some?

Not sure what is available in the UK so I'll leave this for some of the members over there to make recommendations.

When my tyres wore out I fitted Michelin Cross climate all round. I use my car for work and had some journeys planned up to the Scottish Highlands in January, so I thought something that will give more traction on slippery roads would be better. They also give a quieter ride. They've been on for 29,000 miles and I reckon they're good for at least another 10,000 miles. Apart from one frosty morning, I've not had the opportunity to try them out on snow or ice.
What swung it for me was a youtube video where they tried driving cars up the slope at Tamworth snowdome, comparing summer, all-season, and winter tyres.
For summer tyres, I would recommend the Goodyear EfficientGrip performance 2. Shop around on the web to find the best deals once you've picked a tyre. After the tyres are fitted you will have to drive around on them for a bit before the tyre pressure monitors reset. If a tyre pressure monitor doesn't reset, and the tyre pressure is right, the fitter may have damaged the valve sensor.

Like Brendan I also fitted Cross Climates and was very satisfied with them... The tyres were seldom overpowered by my heavy footed acceleration. :goodjob: :goodjob: :goodjob:

I'd agree with brendan both choices. the efficient grips (2) like a bit of over inflation compensate a tad for the soft sidewalls. they are good in the wet.

Well, good to see the Efficient Grip gets a favourable report.
I use them here, too.

Depends on your financial situation and what deals are currently on offer. Tyre performance generally deteriorates measurably when the treads get down a bit. So if you are in the habit of pushing your car to the limit on a regular basis, particularly in the wet then go for it. :cool:
They used my exact car for this test ( well not my car but one the same) interesting and why I am tempted to switch to something similar to the Bridgestone Adrenalin RE003's with still 10k left in my current tyres if I can get a good deal.

When were they manufactured? Thread is important for wet conditions. Manufacturing date affects wet and dry grip. Rubber becomes harder with age. May not be issue where only one set of wheels are used as they wear faster. I must have 2 set of wheels, so I rarely ran out of thread. Usually after 5 years loss of grip becomes noticeable. So for me lack of thread or 5 years of age means new tires.

I used Dunlop blue response on my last change and they are rated A for grip B for economy and 68db noise level.
They are good in the wet and I would recommend them

Hi, I've been very happy with the Crossclimate +
They're down to 4mm after 25,000 miles (from 7mm new). I believe these are the best compromise between having separate sets of winter and summer tyres (which I used to run for previous cars). These are best suited for mild climates like the South of England. If you're further north, consider the Goodyear Vector 4Seasons gen 3 - just out - slightly better on snow/ice.
If you don't anticipate needing better tyres for this winter, consider waiting till later next year when the Crossclimate 2 is released in the UK.

I have SnowSocks for emergency snow which saved me when running summer tyres in the Beast from the East ( they were as good as winter tyres) but EMERGENCIES ONLY!
Or, you could just replace your tyres now and with 4mm tread left, could sell them quite easily.
